I’m all moved in now and I love my little reading corner! I also can’t wait to eventually get more book shelves… (swipe to see 👌🏻). Anyways, this book was a trip! I loved the sound of the plot, but after seeing some reviews I was not sure how much I would like this one. But after reading, I definitely had fun ✨
I’ve been a little absent because I’m in the exciting process of moving! 📦 Moving is a lot of work I don’t look forward to, but happy about where I’m going next! I used some downtime to finish my latest read, Woman on Fire by Lisa Barr. I had a great time reading this book and it had a compelling art historical story, but I had higher hopes for this one... ✨
Hi all, I just finished The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas, and it was atmospherically beautiful and creepy! I heard a lot of good things about this one before going in, and how it was somewhat similar to the vibes of Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia which I haven’t read yet. After reading, I decided I definitely liked the hell out of this one ✨
This book was absolutely insane 🐑 I’ve talked a lot on here about how much I love Ottessa Moshfegh in the past, and I absolutely still do after reading Lapvona. In the end, I thought this was one of her most well-written novels, but it was definitely grotesque as hell ✨
I’m posting from the mountains in Colorado today ⛰ I’m on a much needed vacation, and I’ve got so much reading done! It’s also great reading a book that turns out to be enjoyable on vacation - I just finished Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak ✨
It’s been a while since I posted, but I’ve been caught up with a lot of life things and changes recently! ☀️ I’m back though to talk about a book I really looked forward to this year, Either/Or by Elif Batuman. I read The Idiot this year, the first novel by the author and a Pulitzer nominated book, and Either/Or is the sequel. Overall, I really enjoyed it, but I liked The Idiot better ✨
